Instructor Training

Integrating Pilates for Fitness Trainers

Roman Pilates and the Physiotherapy, Posture, and Fitness Clinic have joined together to create a Pilates Instructor Training Program. This course integrates Pilates and traditional fitness training into a multi plane approach to create Functional Movement Fitness Training.

Regardless of whether the client is fit, unfit or an elite sports person, this course will give you the knowledge and skills to confidently use a Pilates based approach for exercise prescription. Participants can also expect to gain an understanding of postural and muscular imbalances and how to correct these with innovative exercises as they relate to Pilates training. To insure maximum time on the equipment and quality instruction, class size is limited to small groups of 12 in the practical courses.

At the successful completion of these courses, the student will be qualified to teach Pilates based exercises that focus on functional movement training on the Reformer, Chair and Trapeze Table.

*Other Pilates based courses on the Mat and Barrels will be available in 2010.*

To ensure that all trainees are able to learn at a higher level, prospective students must have a recognized certificate IV in Personal Training, diploma or degree in basic health or fitness studies before they can be admitted to our courses.
