After working
with Tom Roman and observing his style of
fitness application to improve individual movement, he discovered that
this
type of training could also apply to Martial Arts.
Wayne Bridge
(Shihan) 5th Dan, commenced his career with
IKO Goju Ryu Karate in 1970. Wayne achieved Black belt 1st Dan in 1975
in
Sydney. In 1976 Wayne travelled to Tokyo / Japan to practice with IKO
senior
Master’s for 6 months and on completion of this gruelling 6 month
training
regime, he was promoted to 2nd Dan. In 1983 Wayne was promoted to 3rd
Dan in
Sydney by his master and again in 2009 to 4th Dan in Sydney. In 2010 he
achieved 5th Dan (Shihan level) in Tokyo, Japan.
Wayne has also
trained with some of Australia’s leading
Martial artists including Sifu Chan Chuk Fai and his most senior
student Sifu
Mick Spinks for over 30 years. This has allowed him to compete in
Full-contact
Thai Style competion in Hong Kong. He has also assised in training some
of
Australia’s leading past national champions. Wayne has been a student
of BJJ
(Brazilian Ju-Jitsu) for the past 12 years and brings these additional
skills
to his students.
